Job Description:

Epona Rise Retreat Centre is a space that inspires. Our 80-acre facility includes eight guest cabins and a stunning backcountry lodge. It caters to those looking for a magnificent natural environment in which to host a large family or group, a yoga and meditation retreat, a wellness retreat, equine retreat or corporate retreat. Our property sits within a lush forest valley, offering boundless opportunity for activities like hiking, trail running, and snow shoeing, all at your doorstep and we pride ourselves on providing an environment specifically curated to be as natural and organic as possible.

Epona Rise Retreat Center is currently looking for an accommodation services manager who can efficiently assist in the daily operations of our business.

Main Duties include:

• Planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the operations of our retreat center
• Determining the type of services to be offered and implementing operational procedures
• Developing, implementing and evaluating center policies and procedures for the operation of the retreat
• Preparing budgets and monitoring revenues and expenses
• Participating in the development of pricing and promotional strategies
• Negotiating with suppliers for the provision of materials and supplies
• Recruiting volunteer staff and overseeing volunteer training
• Working closely with volunteer staff, enabling the manager to role-model best practices and behaviours for volunteer staff
• Setting volunteer staff work schedules and monitoring their performance
• Negotiating with clients for the use of our facilities for conventions, banquets, receptions and other functions
• Negotiating arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets, receptions, and special events
• Ensuring the lodge and cabins are cleaned to standard and ready for guest arrival and check in
• Managing catering pick up's and deliveries and overseeing all food service and guest satisfaction therewith
• Resolving customer complaints and ensuring health and safety regulations are followed
• Controlling inventory, monitoring revenues and modifying procedures and prices
• Working closely with guests and retreat leaders to ensure that guests have an enjoyable experience
• Taking suggestions from guests and analyzing trends in preferences for improvements in particular areas of the retreat center
• Overseeing and managing lodge and cabin inventory, ordering and service upgrading
• Ensuring cabins are cleaned and closed down when not operation and cleaned and opened up when needed
• Continuously improving operations and logistics to improve the financial viability of the retreat center

Employment Requirements:

• A secondary school diploma is required
• Further education with a focus on hotel management or other related discipline is preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in event management and/or accommodation services management
• Previous experience working with horses or some ranch experience is considered an asset
