A well-known Peking roasted duck brand Quanjude (“QJD”) restaurant franchise specialized in Peking Roasted Duck and other Beijing-styled Chinese cuisines.

Job Title:                                             Sous Chef (Peking Duck Specialty) – Full-time Position

Remuneration/ Hours:                       $34.20 per hour / 30 hours per week

Vacation:                                            10 days/ year

Terms:                                                 2 Years (Commencing March 2025)

Job Duties:

-          Prepare and cook Chinese cuisine, with a focus on the distinctive QJD flavours of Peking Roasted Duck, and complimenting the duck dishes with other main dishes and pastries

-          Marinate, roast and present our restaurant’s famous Peking Roasted Duck according to our traditional recipe, as well as our specialized slicing & presentation techniques

-          Assist the Head Chef to supervise & train junior chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers

-          Assist the Head Chef in the restaurant’s quality control and cost estimation on food, labour, and kitchen supplies

-          Participate in menu planning for banquets, accommodate special dietary requests or preferences

-          Collaborate with the restaurant’s floor manager and waiters on customer feedback to create new, innovative recipes

Education/ Experience Requirements:

-          Completion of secondary school is required  

-          1-2 years of relevant experience at Chinese restaurant specialized in QJD Peking roasted duck is required
