Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $24.04 per hour

 

Vacation:                     2-week vacation, 4% accrual each pay cheque

 

Language required:     English, spoken and written

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Coordinate and monitor the logistics of the movement of product and specifically, the planning, shipping, and receipt of product in a cost and time efficient manner
  • Ensure that product is shipped and received on schedule
  • Manage and build relationships with drivers and customers through effective and frequent communication
  • Process and communicate information from, to and among stakeholders and specifically:
    • receive and process transportation requirement requests from customers
    • report safety concerns or damage from stakeholders and ensure resolution
    • manage customer expectations with regard to shipping and delivery, and specifically with regard to scheduling, delays, and related issues
    • provide accurate, up-to-date information regarding shipments and logistics to all stakeholders as required, including information about routing and traffic concerns, weather and other hazards
    • Book pickup and delivery appointments with customers
  • Enter information in transport software system
  • Collect and audit paperwork and driver envelopes to ensure accuracy
  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in business or supply chain management, or at least six months of experience in a similar role, is required
  • Experience providing high levels of customer service
  • Technological skills and knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Office, PoS systems, etc.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Able to work well under pressure and maintain calmness
  • Flexible, ability to deal with change
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
