Position Name:                             Hotel Managing Supervisor

Duration:                                       Permanent, Full-Time

Hours:                                             35-40 hrs/week

Salary:                                             $21.50 /hr

Overtime:                                       $32.25/hr (As per province standards – for over 8 hrs/day; 44 hrs/week)

Observed Holidays:                      As outlined on labour.gov.bc.ca – 10 holidays/yr

Education:                                     Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience:                                     7 months to less than 1 year

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Support team members in handling guest requests and enquires to ensure a positive outcome
  • Keeping management updated for any relevant feedback from Guests and/or other departments
  • Conduct training programs for new front desk staff members and review training materials for improvements where necessary
  • Ensure a consistent, high level of customer service
  • Briefing team on any events or VIP guests in the hotel that day
  • Delegate tasks to guest service agents to ensure the AM/PM checklists are complete and agents are engaged during slow periods
  • Assist other departments, as necessary, and maintain good working relationships with hotel team members
  • Supervise front desk operations including check in/out procedures
  • Follow company standard operating procedures and policies
  • Responsible for shift handovers and brief team members as required
  • Act in accordance with hotel compliance policies when operating the front of house equipment and the property management systems
  • Ensure team members have current knowledge of all room categories, room rates, packages, promotions local area and other general product knowledge necessary to perform their duties.
  • Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the front office team with an emphasis on training and teamwork.
