Wage: $38.50 per hour (full-time permanent position; 37.5 hours per week)
Location of Work: Unit B206, 1943 Ironoak Way, Oakville, ON L6H 3V7
Benefits: 50% health insurance coverage, after six months
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, set up and administer accounting systems and prepare and maintain financial information.
- Examine financial accounts and records; support the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Prepare quarterly financial reports for franchisees by analyzing their data and managing internal processes related to royalty calculations.
- Perform ad hoc activities like analyzing any new investment opportunity, financial forecasts, business case development etc. as advised.
- Prepare operating and investment budgets.
- Prepare annual reports and other deliverables in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop and maintain cost finding, reporting and internal control procedures;
- Complete all funding-related reports, ensuring deadlines set by the region are met.
- Plan short- and long-term cash flows and assess financial performance.
- Complete work by consistently following designated methodologies, processes, standards, and tools. Create sufficient working papers and documentation for the activities performed.
- Analyze the performance of marketing initiatives, based on returns
- Perform thorough self-reviews of work, utilizing checklists and other tools, ensuring the highest quality on all assignments.
- Analyze financial statements and reports and provide financial, business and tax advice.
- Communicate your progress and status to supervisors.
- Look out for improvement initiatives from a process efficiency perspective.
- Take ownership of your schedule and proactively seek work when necessary to complete your assignments.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude by contributing innovative ideas to the team.
- Consistently follow SimplySmart's policies.
- Ensure the highest quality possible on all assigned work and take individual responsibility for all work done, and any mistakes or omissions.
- Become involved in coaching/supporting newer staff in the team.
- Demonstrate timeliness and a sense of urgency and respond to queries/concerns promptly.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- Minimum one year of experience
- Management of financial resources experience
- Excellent analytical thinking
- Attention to detail
