JOB DUTIES

As Truck Driver Supervisor with Trilink logistics you will oversees the activities of truck drivers and ensures the efficient operation of the entire transport and delivery processes. In this role you will be involved in combination of operational, administrative, and leadership responsibilities. Key duties will include:

1. Driver Management

Scheduling and Assignments: Develop and maintain driver schedules, assign routes, and ensure all deliveries are made on time.

Monitoring Performance: Track driver performance, including efficiency, adherence to routes, fuel usage, and on-time deliveries.

Enforcing Safety and Compliance: Ensure drivers comply with company policies, safety regulations, and federal or local transport laws (e.g., Hours of Service rules).

2. Fleet and Route Optimization

Route Planning: Plan and optimize routes to ensure efficient use of time, fuel, and resources.

Fleet Maintenance Coordination: Work with the fleet management team to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.

Tracking and Monitoring: Use GPS and other fleet management software to monitor vehicle locations, fuel usage, and driver behavior.

 3. Regulatory Compliance

Ensuring Compliance with Laws: Ensure that all drivers follow DOT regulations, including licensing, inspections, and Hours of Service requirements.

Document Management: Maintain records of driver logs, vehicle inspections, and maintenance schedules for audits or legal requirements.

4. Safety Oversight

Training on Safety Procedures: Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to reinforce safe driving practices.

Incident Management: Investigate accidents or other incidents involving company vehicles, file reports, and take corrective action when necessary.

Enforce Safety Protocols: Ensure drivers use appropriate safety equipment (e.g., seatbelts) and follow procedures for secure cargo transport.

5. Communication and Problem-Solving

Addressing Driver Concerns: Act as the first point of contact for drivers who have questions or issues regarding routes, schedules, or vehicle problems.

Coordinating with Dispatch: Work closely with dispatchers to adjust delivery plans or routes as needed, especially in case of delays or vehicle breakdowns.

Customer Communication: Serve as a liaison between drivers and customers, ensuring that delivery expectations are met and handling any service complaints.

6. Reporting and Administration

Performance Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, fuel efficiency, and driver performance.

Budget Management: Monitor transportation costs (fuel, overtime, etc.) and work to reduce expenses where possible.

Payroll and Timekeeping: Ensure drivers accurately record hours worked and assist in processing payroll or handling overtime approvals.

7. Hiring, Training, and Development

Recruitment of Drivers: Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new drivers, including conducting interviews and background checks.

Training and Mentorship: Provide ongoing training to drivers on new equipment, software, or safety protocols and mentor them to improve performance.

Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance evaluations for drivers and recommend improvements or promotions.

 

8. Crisis and Conflict Management

Handling Breakdowns and Delays: Coordinate responses to vehicle breakdowns, route closures, or other disruptions in real-time to minimize delays.

Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts or disputes between drivers, customers, or other team members and find solutions to maintain team morale.

A truck driver's supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of transportation operations within the logistics company.

Prepare production and other reports, Supervise workers and projects, Train or arrange for training

Dispatch drivers and monitor routes, Monitor and operate signal and track switch control panel

Co-ordinate and schedule activities, Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, Recommend personnel actions- coordinate repairs and rentals, Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies

Experience and specialization: Computer and technology knowledge MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Word
