Buyer - Multifamily
Wage: $30.50 CAD/Hour 40h/week


The Buyer - Multifamily is responsible for procuring merchandise for Trail Appliances and efficiently managing inventory levels. This role includes reviewing requirements, analyzing market trends, selecting merchandise, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining supplier relationships. The buyer oversees distribution, coordinates with the multifamily team on inventory forecasts and product transitions, and ensures smooth operations with warehouse management. The position requires strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and build effective supplier relationships.

 Responsibilities
? Purchase merchandise for resale by retail or wholesale establishments.
? Review establishment requirements to determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
? Study market reports, trade periodicals, sales promotion materials, and attend showrooms and product design events.
? Select merchandise that best fits the establishment's requirements.
? Interview suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements.
? Oversee the distribution of merchandise to outlets and maintain adequate stock levels.
? Establish and maintain contact with suppliers.
? Analyze inventory requirement forecasts from the multifamily team and place purchase orders accordingly.
? Manage purchase orders from entry to complete receipt of the product.
? Communicate inventory challenges to the multifamily team and Purchasing Managers.
? Manage product transitions to fulfill projects as requested, collaborating closely with the multifamily team.
? Drive turnover by managing Builder Warehouse inventory levels.
? Communicate regularly with Warehouse Management to ensure inventory levels are manageable and advise on large incoming shipments.
? Coordinate supplier meetings monthly to quarterly, depending on the supplier.
? Lead quarterly meetings with multifamily project coordinators.
? Reconcile supplier receiving and invoice variances promptly.


Required Skills
? A university degree or college diploma in business, marketing or a related program is an asset.
? Completion of secondary school is required.
? Previous work experience in retail or wholesale establishments is required.
? Working Experience with Microsoft Programs (specifically Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
? Strong Organizational and time management skills
? Strong oral and written communication
? Ability to Analyze and interpret high volumes of data
? Takes initiative to make improvements and communicate change
? Works well with others and can drive towards individual and shared team goals
? Assertive and direct when necessary
