Job Description

S M Contracting is seeking a permanent, full-time Construction Painter - Decorator.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• High school diploma
• Proficiency in English
• Willingness to learn various techniques, methods, and a range of repairs and renovations

Job Duties:

• Prepare surfaces by removing dust and old paint
• Fill minor cracks and dents
• Apply primer coatings
• Apply paint coats, wallpaper, and other materials
• Apply decorative coatings such as Venetian, Lucido, Spatolato, and faux plaster
• Use tools like brushes, special trowels, styling sponges, paint rollers, and spray equipment
• Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
• Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat
• Prepare items for the application of protective or decorative coatings
• Organize and maintain inventory
• Clean the work area
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications
• Clean and maintain equipment

Location: S M Contracting is based at 118 Airdrie Drive, Woodbridge, Ontario. Work locations will be in Woodbridge and across the GTA. Candidates must be available to work shifts and weekends, if required.

Compensation:

• $25 per hour (less statutory deductions) with a workload of 30 hours a week at a min
• 10 paid business days of statutory vacation time
