Job Description

Family in Maple, ON, L6A1Y8 is looking for a Home Support Worker for a 90-year-old male.

The position is full time.

The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evenings.

Salary: $22 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week

Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free

Work Location: Must work in employer's/client's home.

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate

Job Duties:

1. Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
2. Help clients with mobility and physical exercises.
3. Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and making beds.
4. Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist clients with eating if necessary.
5. Provide companionship and engage clients in conversation to alleviate loneliness and improve mental health.
6. Accompany clients to appointments and social events to encourage community participation.
7. Monitor clients' mental health and report any significant changes to the family and healthcare professionals.
8. Maintain a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the senior

Requirements:

1. Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
2. Prefer to have previous experience in caregiving and/or previous full-time training in the field.
3. Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
4. Must be patient, elderly-friendly with good interpersonal skills.
