Position: Carpenter, houses (NOC 72310)
Number of vacancies: Three (3)
Wages: $ 32.50 CAD per hour
Benefits: Dental and Health care plan
Working hours per week: 40 hours
Work Location: 13 Reid Road, Bradford, ON, L3Z 0P9
Work conditions: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Flexible Hours, Morning, On Call, to be determined.
Language Required: English
Education Required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
or equivalent experience
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Job Duties:
- Prepare estimates
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Prepare tenders and quotations
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Schedule and coordinate work on sites
- Survey building locations and levels
- Instruct apprentices
- Supervise other workers
- Estimate costs and materials
- Operate CADD and other computer software systems
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures
Skills and physical capabilities:
- Basic skills and knowledge in using construction materials like saws, drills, cutting tools, power nailers, hammers, etc.
- Supervision of 1 to 2 people
- Bending, crouching, kneeling
- Handling heavy loads
