Responsibilities

Tasks

• Select the appropriate arc welding process {MIG or TIG} and operate arc and flame cutting equipment
• Determine the suitable welding equipment or technique in accordance with the project specifications and the metal structure
• Utilize angle grinders to prepare components for welding
• Align parts using calipers, rulers, etc., and secure them in place with clamps
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
• Perform specific welds with precision, inspect workpieces for any imperfections, and use straightedges to measure workpieces, ensuring they meet the required specifications

• Repair and fabricate truck bodies by welding pieces and filling gaps 
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws and perform minor repairs
• Cut and assemble metal components to fabricate or repair vehicle parts, machinery, structures, and other items
