Job Description

Murray Motors Abbotsford is actively looking to fill its Accounting Technician (Teer 12200) position for their location (30355 Auto mall Dr. Abbotsford, BC V2T 5M1) immediately.

Total positions-1, Tenure-Fulltime (40 hrs/week), Salary-$28.85 per hour and benefits after 3 months probation, apply at dbaxter@murraygmabbotsford.com

Job Description:

  • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries/weekly check runs/monthly accruals and special projects for portfolio companies.
  • Processing of employee and management of staff expense claims in accordance with regulations, policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Responsible for the processing and accounting of the corporate credit card transactions.
  • Daily review of bank transactions into the general ledger, across bank accounts and reconciliations kept up to date.
  • Verification of staff timesheets on a weekly basis and preparation for semi-monthly payroll processing.
  • Entering, revising, sorting, calculating and creating tables for analysis, account reconciliations, year-end working papers, control accounts, etc.
  • Perform all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Back-up to the finance team member for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and consolidations for group reporting, while ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Work with the finance team on the formulation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
  • Work with our Group Insurance agents for employee benefits, defrayal and administration.
  • Other related accounting and administrative duties as required or assigned by the Controller.

Job Requisites:

  • Some accounting certificate/Diploma
  • Between 1-3 Years’ experience in finance and accounting.
  • Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding payroll is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
  • Exposure to payroll (ADP) is an asset.
