Job Description
ACGI shipping Inc is actively looking to fill its Vessel Accountant/Accounting Technician (Teer 12200) position for their location in Burnaby (#201, 3480 Gilmore Way Burnaby BC V5G 4Y1) immediately.

Job Description:
- Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries/weekly check runs/monthly accruals and special projects for portfolio companies.
- Processing of employee and management of staff expense claims in accordance with regulations, policies, practices, and procedures.
- Responsible for the processing and accounting of the corporate credit card transactions.
- Daily review of bank transactions into the general ledger, across bank accounts and reconciliations kept up to date.
- Verification of staff timesheets on a weekly basis and preparation for semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Entering, revising, sorting, calculating and creating tables for analysis, account reconciliations, year-end working papers, control accounts, etc.
- Perform all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with company policy and procedures.
- Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Back-up to the finance team member for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and consolidations for group reporting, while ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met.
- Work with the finance team on the formulation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
- Other related accounting and administrative duties as required or assigned by the Controller.
Job Requisites:
- Undergraduate Degree - Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting Major.
- Between 1-3 Years’ experience in finance and accounting.
- Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding payroll is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
- Exposure to payroll (ADP) is an asset.
